Djukanovic: The Social Democratic Party can not be more power and opposition

In the Montenegrin parliament at the first extraordinary session, discussions began on the issue of trust to the government, which was marked by fierce exchanges of accusations between the now-former partners in the coalition of the DPS and PSD.

Recall that the ruling coalition in Montenegro is the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS), whose leader is the Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic and her younger partner the Social Democratic Party (SDP), whose leader is Parliament Speaker Ranko Krivokapich. The partnership of these forces has been in power since 1998.

Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic said that the culmination of the crisis in relations between partners in the ruling coalition (DPS-PSD) indicates that this government is a technical one and that the continuation of his work was politically rational until a decision was taken at the invitation of NATO to join Montenegro. Therefore, he says, he raised the issue of trust in the Government.

"The succession of political events intensified distrust in the relations of the DPS-PSD. I tolerated this inconsistency of the functioning of the authorities only for the sake of getting an invitation to NATO, "Djukanovic noted, adding that a special stumbling block in relations with the SDP was the issue in the field of significant investments.

Djukanovic himself is worried by the fact that on the political stage, until now, there has not been a clear line between the opposition and the government. The crisis of relations in the ruling coalition is reflected, - the prime minister says, and on the functionality of the political system in the state. He also recalled that since 2012, Montenegro has been the most stable state in the region.

"I have heard many accusations that it is a step that will threaten the beginning of a political dialogue. These tendentious, fictitious assessments. I still have not heard an evaluation that would indicate a hidden motive for initiating a lack of confidence in the government ... It is clear that after this session there will be no place for those who are used to simultaneously being the government and the opposition. More precisely, they are in power because of the comforts that this status brings to them and at the same time, they secretly support all those who undermine the power, not looking back at the consequences it will bring Montenegro, the Prime Minister added.

The leader of the SDP, Krivokapich, said that the Constitution of Montenegro recognizes not one power, but three.

In this state the citizen is sovereign. The Government did not understand all this. This Government initiates the division of the parliament, seeks novices, not parliamentarians. This ignorance, which leads to corruption ..., said Krivocapic. I will be the last to refuse to defend what you have created, Mr. Djukanovic. When they all leave, I will stay to protect what you have created. Because Montenegro needs the name Milo Djukanovic, but which should not suffer from Milo Djukanovic. Togo, Milo Djukanovic who created historical things, in Montenegro ... It is my public duty, not even personal, to keep it all ..., he added.

Another political party, Positive Montenegro, adopted a plan last night to overcome the political crisis that was handed over to the government and the opposition, said the chairman of the party Darko Piovich after the session of the Central Committee.

The plan, among other things, offers the option that the Government will include representatives of the parliamentary opposition at the political and expert level, as part of ministers and assistants, in order to gain control over financial flows, employment and the social sphere, thereby creating prerequisites for fair and democratic elections. These and other conditions of the submitted plan must be fulfilled within 90 days, in which case his party will vote for the confidence of the Government.

The head of the club of deputies of the National Bolshevik Party, Alexander Damyanovich, said: ... today we came to the natural end of this government. The government, he said, completed its work, regardless of the results of the voting in the parliament.

Damjanovic said that deputies are sitting in the parliament, who did not get a majority in the elections, reminding Djukanovic that representatives of the parties are sitting in the government, whose legitimacy is not confirmed in the last elections.

The Montenegrin Democratic Union (CDU) supported initiatives that Positive Montenegro offers.

What the colleagues from Positive identified as a mechanism for strengthening the state and creating conditions for the preparation of democratic and fair elections are in line with the positions and views of the CDU.

"The interests of our country and all our citizens are more important than any personal ambitions or acting functions ... The CDU calls on all parliamentary parties ... to confirm their political responsibility and seriousness ... and to prevent unpredictable and dangerous political scenarios and situations. We do not want and we will not be useful, nor the so-called Macedonian scenario, nor what is called Ukrainian. "Montenegro needs a coalition regarding our membership in NATO, democratic and free elections and the Government ... as well as political intentions and responsibilities"

The deputies of the Liberal Party repeated at today's discussion that the Government of Mila Djukanovic will support. Party Chairman Andria Popovich: Street democracy and violence have never brought anything good to anyone.

The session, which was scheduled for 11 hours, was postponed by the college, due to the proposal of Positive Montenegro. The Board decided that the session will start at 12.30 hours.

Meanwhile, the activists of the Democratic Front organized new protests before the Assembly in Podgorica.

The police, because of the protest, closed the traffic on the part of the avenue in front of the parliament building. DF activists insulted the ambassadors who were entering the Assembly building. Booed and the leader of Positive Darko Pajovic.

Knezevic said that the protests will go on while the meeting lasts. He thanked the audience, and the leader of Positive Darko Pajovic asked if their proposal meant that he was against the Government.

If this means that you will be against the Government, we support you, if not, you will not have the support of either the DF or the people, "Knezevic said.

He added that the conditions presented by the Positive Party last night were not acceptable to the DF and called on opposition colleagues to form a working group and continue protest actions until the formation of the interim government.

In the park across the road of the Assembly was mounted a stage with a screen, to which, as planned, the current session will be broadcast.
