Europe will pay for the border development of Montenegro

Recently, a conference was held in Split, where a decision was made to start the implementation of the cross-border cooperation program between Montenegro, Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina until 2020. From Montenegro, the event was attended by the main negotiator for the country's accession to the EU, Alexander Andriy Pejović.

The new tripartite cooperation program will cover 10 municipalities in Montenegro, 12 districts in Croatia, 109 municipalities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, in which, in aggregate, there are more than 5.5 million inhabitants. The participating countries emphasize efforts in four directions: improving the quality of social and medical services, protecting the environment, developing energy, tourism and the business environment.

The total budget of the program is 67 million euros. Responsible for the implementation of the program will be the Croatian Regional Development Agency. The program is funded by the European Regional Development Fund and the IPA II Accession Fund.
