Tent Camp for Opposition in Montenegro No More
On the morning of October 17, in the center of Podgorica, the special forces dispersed the opposition tent camp, which stood in front of the Parliament building on September 27. The action was held against illegitimate elections. At 6 am more than 1000 officers of special forces and counter-terrorist units pushed back the protesters and cleared the street, removing the tents and dismantling the scene. During the storm, 6 police officers and 2 civil activists were injured, as well as several detainees among the resisting police. According to the protesters themselves, the order for the assault was given by the Prime Minister of Montenegro Milo Djukanovic, whose resignations they sought.
During the day the communal services cleaned the street and the surrounding territory. At the moment, all the consequences of the three-week confrontation with the authorities have been removed.
